Cork Board

Hi!
Sorry for the double pillow post... I wasn't thinking :)

Cork Board
What you need
frame
cork board
fabric

I found this idea on Make it Love it, but she changed up her blog and I can't find it back.

I already had a cork board but wanted to make it sassier. I couldn't find the right size frame so instead I bought long pieces of skinny wood at Hobby Lobby, cut it (well I didn't cut it) and glue it together with wood glue.

Trace your frame on your fabric

Cut out. It doesn't have to be cut pretty. As you can see mine is pitiful.

I made slits in each corner so that when I Mod Podged it it would be easier.

Mod Podged the fabric on the back of the frame.
It should look like this! TADA!

Then you have to somehow attach the cork in there. I glued mine in then glued a tick strip of felt on each side.

I also put ribbon around the top so I could put these cute mini clothes pins to use.

O I am not forgetting about bedroom pictures! My room just is never the cleanest place. I will definitely work on that over the long weekend!
Trying to catch up on tutorials this weekend too!

It's about time for a tutorial

It has been ages since the last post! I/we really gotta get better at this! We have had lots of homework/tests and the weekends just fly by, so posting isn't thought of much.

PB Teen inspired Pillow Tutorial
I made this pillow some time ago (during the summer actually). I found a pillow like it in a PB teen magazine, but it was a little out of price range. So instead I created my own.

What you need
Felt (about 3-4 sheets)
Pillow
hot glue
Pencil
Card board
Scissors

You start off by making 4 stencils; big, medium, small, extra small with the card board.

Take the large petal stencil and trace about 8 petals (you may have extras or need more. Depending on how you lay it out)

Trace about 8 with the medium too.

11 for the small, and 5 for the extra small.

*Next step are done with both the small and the extra small*

With your petals estimate where the middle of your petal is and draw with pencil (or you can just guess) a little less than 1/2 way up.

This is where you will put a line of hot glue and pinch together to get...

After you have all your small and extra small petals glued get your pillow and glue on your large petals, overlapping slightly.

Get your medium petals and overlap them over the large petals looking like this:

(sorry no pic for the next step)
Glue 2 "layers" of the small size. Then overtop clue the extra small size.
And your done!

Taylor's Pinterest Post

As I said earlier I would make and post on some of my favorite 'pins'.

Here they are :)

I am just in love with this craft room and the rugs.

Sassy letters wrapped with yarn.

Proverbs 3:5 on a canvas.

I adore this room! Too bad mine was just redone a year ago.

I would love to have a heart with pictures on my wall! I would probably not do deer...

I am falling in love with: washi tape, colorful cupcake holders, oversized balloons, and sassy straws.

I kinda really like this kitchen.

Thanks all I have for now.

Have a great tuesday night.

Long Time - No Post

It has been awhile since both of us have posted. We are back in school (duh!) and I guess we really don't have much time to post and/or don't think about posting. I know we both have been crafting a lot and doing crafty stuff. Megan and I also each have a Pinterest - I love it! Do you have one?? If so, let us know :)) You can 'pin' things onto boards of different categories. Sometime I will make a post on different things I have pinned. Megan and I got together today and took some awesome pictures together, maybe we will show you some of 'em. Megan and I both have craft shows that we are doing. Maybe a post on that too??

Hope everybody has a great week.

tissue paper card tutorial

I saw this idea on Pinterest and thought I should attempt to make it, so I did.
Here is the tutorial I made to go with it.

Tissue Paper Card Tutorial

Supplies:

3 different color tissue papers
1 card w/ envelope
glue stick
sewing machine (needle and thread will also work)
scissors

Cut the 3 tissue papers different sizes. (I layered about 2 of each color)

With a glue stick lightly glue the middle of the pieces together.

Cut to the size of the card and then lightly glue only middle on the card.

Now sew down the middle.

Now cut / fringe the edges.

It went a little wild, so I just flattened it a bit.

Now your done...

I did leave words off because I want to get some type of stamp to put on it. (happy birthday?!?)
I dont want it to be my hand writing.

I hope you liked it.

Flower Pillow

I found a pillow kinda like this one in a PBteen magazine.

To make the flower pillow you need
2 sheets of felt
cardboard
scissors
glue gun

First you are going to want to cut four different petal sizes out of cardboard
Big, Medium, Small, Extra Small

Take your big petal 'stencil' and trace and cut 8 petals

Then cut and trace 8 Medium petals

Sorry no pics. for the next few steps.
Trace and cut 11 small petals. (you may need more or less. Depending on how you arrange them)
Trace and cut 6 extra small petals (again you may need more or less....)
With these 2 size petals put a line of glue starting from the bottom of the petal up to a little below the middle. You should end up with a shape like this.
Small Petals

Extra Small Petals

Glue the large petals onto the pillow. Overlapping a little.

Then glue on the medium size petals, overlapping a little too.

No pics. for the next few steps.

Do 2 layers of small petals. Glue them on a little farther away from the middle.
After you do two layers of small petals do one layer of extra small petals.
And your done!
