O My! I have made a total fool out of myself!

O my o my. I have made a complete fool out of myself.
Heres how. I call/called Mod Podge MODGE PODGE! O my lans! Can it get any worse?! Well I was talking about that stuff with Melanie tonight (yes we talk about mod podge) and she is like "It is MOD podge." Right away I thought O MY! I said it wrong on my blog!" So I said I would make a post about my foolishness. Please forgive me of my dumbness and we will move on in life.
Ok all good
We get out of school June 3! So how many more days is that? O too high for me to count this late at night.
But we turn in our laptops June 1, so that means not as much bloggin :(. I will attempt to blog every once in a while.
That is about all I have to say.
Until next time,
BYE!

Storage Boxes

Hello all!
I recently got a desk. (WOOT WOOT!) But the desk doesn't have drawers, so I knew I had to come up with a different way for storage. I decided I wanted to do boxes, but when I looked at some online I saw that they are PRICY! Later I came across Make it and Love. I found a tutorial for storage boxes that she made for her craft room! (to see her tutorial click here) They looked easy to make, and boy was I rejoicing that I wouldn't have to pay so much money!  I tweaked her version of the boxes a small bit. (she only has fabric on the front, the other sides are spray painted. I did fabric all the ways around and no spray paint)
Ok so after that long "story" here is the tutorial

What you need
-TONS of cardboard
-Knife to cut cardboard (I think what I used was called a carpenters knife)
-Lots of hot glue
-fabric (I chose 2 patterns)
-Modge Podge (did I spell that right!?)
-Sponge paintbrush
-Scissors for cutting fabric

Ok, so what ya got to do first is measure the area you want your box to sit in and then measure out five pieces of cardboard

In one of the pieces, you need to cut a whole for the handle. (that piece will be the front of the box)

After all the pieces are cut out, glue.

Then you should have a box.

Next, get out your fabric.

Put your box against the edge of your fabric

(this next part may be a little confusing... I hope the pic. explains)

Flip it so that you have all the sides "covered" (you are making a big long strip of cloth to wrap around your box)
Or have flipped it four times

Then from the bottom of the box, go down 1 inch-2 inches. (this extra will be used to go over top and bottom edges.)

Also, on the side of the box, go out about 1 inch or so you can make a finished look with it

Start making a straight line to where you ended with your box to where you began with your box.

Ok, now we are done with the confusing parts for a bit.

Cut it out
Iron it

Take your box and your modge podge and paintbrush and spread a thin layer of modge podge on the box.

Take your fabric and lay on the modge podge (make sure to center it so that there is extra fabric on the edges of the box to fold over) and smooth out.

Do that for all the sides.

As you should notice now, you have extra fabric on the edges (that is good!), no hole for a handle (we can fix that!) and a flap of skin (haha I said skin first.) fabric (thats good! that is for the "finished" look).

For the extra flap of fabric: fold it over and then modge podge it to the box (you may have to tear a little of the fabric away from the box in order to do this correctly)

Now for the handle: make a slit in the middle where the handle is supposed to be, then make triangle shapes on the edge. Then modge podge to the box in the inside of the box.

Still got those edges. Your basically just fold it over the top of the box and modge podge er up.
You do the same for the bottom.

And you are done! WALA!

I made 4. 2 big ones, and 2 little ones (that fit on the same shelf)

(I am hopin to get a new chair instead of my cube... which is not supposed to be for sitting. But the chair will have to wait for a while)

I still have one more to make for an empty shelf as you can see in the picture above... and below, but am not sure what fabric to do, flower of polk a dot. Please leave a comment or email telling what fabric you think I should do!

I am SOO happy with how they turned out!!

New look

Like the new look!? I think it is pretty cute. Me and Taylor decided our blog needed a little makeover, so tonight I whipped up a few things. We do want to make the green into a long rectangle that goes all the way down to the bottom of the page and so the stripes border it. (make sense?) Just gotta figure out how :). If you do know, PLEASE tell us! It would be much appreciated

Adorable no-sew felt flower pillow

I lied. I will not be posting the fun project I said I would post over the weekend, because I ran out of cardboard. (yes cardboard. But I promise you, it is darlin.) But instead I decided to make that fun pillow I told you guys about. I am hoping to repaint my room over the summer, brown, pink, and green. So I am making little decorations here and there.
Here is the tutorial for the pillow.
The idea came from Natsprat, but the tutorial came from here. I tweeked it a little. So this is how I did it. If you want to do it the other way, go to the tutorial.

What you need for the whole project
Pillow you would like to dress up
Felt (I used 2 1/2 sheets of brown and then less than 1/2 sheet of pink)
Hot glue
A large circle tracer (used a cup)
A medium circle tracer (used a yogurt cup)
Scissors
Writing utensil (I used chalk for brown, and a pink marker for pink)

The way I did it there are kind of two parts, so we will start with the first part.
The flower petals.
What you need
Felt (I used 2 1/2 sheets)
Hot glue
Pillow
Your 2 different size circle tracers
Writing utensil

First cut out 8 large circles, and 6 medium (I did 4 large and 2 medium per sheet of felt, then ended up using 1/2 of another sheet for 2 more medium circles)

Then cut the circles in half

Start arranging your half circles  on the pillow *DO NOT GLUE.... YET*. I started out with 9 large for the 1st layer. Did 2 rows of large and did the rest medium. Leave a little hole in the center.
After you have it all laid out, take off the 1/2 circles except for the 1st layer and glue them on. Continue gluing them all on.

All righty, done with that part. Now for the center.

I did a twist for the center.

Start off by cutting 2 .5 inch strips out of felt (going the long way)

Glue one end and start twisting.

Then glue the other bottom end too.

Twist the twist onto a circle of felt. Starting in the middle, moving out.

Put glue on the circle of felt, and glue it down in the center of your flower!

And wala! You are done!
Isn't it just the cutest little pillow ever!?
I hope to make a cylinder (is that what it is called?) pillow soon!

Long time no post from me

Hello! It has been a while since I last posted. I figured I could post something. It is short and not all that interesting but hey! At least it's something :) So here is what is happening.
I am working on a very fun project that will hopefully be done over the weekend so I can put up a tutorial on that!
After that I will be making a very precious pillow, so there will be another tutorial.
And last week Saturday I made a skirt with Taylor. It turned out uber cute! Pics. to come! (right now it is EXTREMELY wrinkly! So after I iron it I will post pics.)
Well that is all.

Dreaming!

Hi!
So, I know this awesome lady who is very crafting, and by very i mean VERY crafty, she is really fashionable, she is a super cool GEMS leader, and has 3 adorable boys!

She got me hooked on a store - like so hooked that I come home from school everyday and look at this stores website - the store is FOREVER 21! She got Megan and I both hocked on Francesca's Collections too.

These are sweet stores, so if you did not check them out yet, go check 'em out!

Anyway, I am saving up my money (it should be more like attempting to save my money) for out GEMS Girl's Night Out! EEKKK I am so excited! We are going to be heading to the Woodland Mall, and guess what!?!?!? THEY HAVE A FOREVER 21....I am just so excited - can you tell?

These are somethings I have seen online @ Forever 21 that I am just in love with!

Let me know what you think of these fine pieces of clothes.

I could go on, and on, and on, and on...ya you get the picture!

Some of you may think I am weird for this and other may think I am awesome, but I think that these would be SUPER comfy and fun to take pictures in! They kinda remind me of pj's too!

Well, I hope you all have a good night!
