{Pretty Garland}

I'm loving garland. Doesn't matter if it fabric, or somethin' else. I'll take it. On Sunday I was looking for something to do, and at the same time I was thinking about craft shows. I decided that I would actually make something for the booth instead of things to sell. I decided on a pretty little garland while browsing Pinterest for ideas.
(p.s. If you have any ideas of what I should sell...do tell! I am at a loss of thought on what I should do.)

Fabric Garland
Supplies:
- Fabric
- Twine/Yarn
- Sewing Machine
- Cutter

- Cut your fabric into strips. You can do any size you want depending on how big or small you want them. Mine were 2' by 6.5'.

- Fold your strips in half. If you really don't feel like doing this you don't have to. It just made it easier for me to know where the middle was.

- Now you are ready to sew your what-ever-you-want-to-call-them on! Make sure when sewing to try and sew over some of the twine. Otherwise it will just slip out. Ya, I learned that the hard way.

Yay! Now you have your finished garland.

(ick, ya thats me in the 1st frame. with ugly old glasses and feathers. sick)

You can totally make this if you don't have a sewing machine. Just use a glue gun. Put some glue over the twine, and then stick the fabric on to that. Easy Peasy.

I hope to be making more garlands very very soon. I just need to make a point to get to a hobby lobby type store and buy some supplies.

I also used a different size for the pictures. Did you like that? Could you even tell?

Happy Easter and Funky Fabric Pillow

First of all...

Happy Easter!
- - - - - - - - - - - - - -  - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -  - -  - - - - - - -
I first showed this pillow to you yesterday in my post about my room. I enjoying making things but have to be in a super crafty mood to be able to think of something awesome and not stupid. I felt like I was in that mood yesterday. I woke up and decided that I would make a pillow with some of my extra fabric and the fluff that was sitting around.

These are the supplies you will want:
- Old Pillow OR you can fluff/stuffing. (I ended up just using the fluff from inside the pillow)
- Fabric (Various Types)
-Ruler
-Thread and Sewing Machine
- Pins (I actually did not use any. You may or may not find it helpful to use those)
- Fabric Cutter

1 - Cut the fabric off the pillow

2 - Now we'll measure the both sides

3 - Next you will cut stripes of fabric to sew together to make the whole covering for the pillow. You will use your measurements to cut to the right length across and then tall enough for up and down. (You may want a little extra tall wise, so incase your sewing makes it smaller you'll have extra.)

4 - Sew your stripes together. You will have the stripes being back to back/fabric pattern in the inside.

5 - Continue doing this until all of your pieces are sewn together and are the size of the old cover.

7 - Fold in half and sew three of the sides together so you'll have a bag type shape. (Sew while its inside out.)

8 - If you have a pre put together pillow you can now stick it in then sew up the top. If you are using fluff do the following. Sew about half of the top up (still inside out) and now you can put the fluff in. Once done with that you can hand stitch the rest of it together so it'll be one.
That's all....

When you walk into my room you will see this wall:

 {don't you just love those shaped frames?? i still need to put pictures in them though...}

 {thank you, hobby lobby for having them}

 {something else is going to go in the big black frame}

{we will be getting another one of these today, and it will be going on the other side also}

Next we have this hook by my closet for scarves and such:
{hook from hobby lobby too}

Remember the thing Megan got me for my birthday? Well you will see it immediately when you walk in:

All my sewing junk is on this holder thingy from Target:

{that is in my room now}

I know I said I was going to make a lot of things for the room, but that really did not happen...at all.
I did made one thing...this pillow. {Look for the tutorial on it tomorrow}

I also plan on hopefully making curtains. Something like this or this

Sorry I don't have a picture of like the whole thing. I would love to go take one now, but uploading pictures takes f-o-r-e-v-e-r.

Have a fantastic Easter!
