Five Things Friday {Totally Randomness}

Happy Friday! Hope your day is going good.

Here are just a few randoms for this week.

1. You know what my least favorite part of blogging is? Figuring out how to start you post. I can never think of a creative way, so most of the time mine are all boring. Like 'Happy _____!' So, if  you are getting bored of me saying that all the time, your doing to have to deal with it because I got no other idea :)

2. As mentioned before I have a craft show tomorrow. Tonight I will be setting up for it. Setting up is one of my most favorite parts because I like things to look uber pretty. {Check back tomorrow for details on it!}

3. Even though we only had 3 days of school this week - it felt like an entire week. The days are just dragging on it seems. I guess that is what a 6 day weekend does to you. Therefore, I am more than happy it is a Friday!

4. How many of you are going to a Haunted Corn Maze - or just a Corn Maze - this year? Read this post. Yah, I agree 100%. Also, you should really make those yummy looking rice crispy treats.

5. We had family pictures taken last Sunday. It was amazing. The sun was a shinnin' and the leaves were all their beautiful colors. Wanna see a preview? Here's me -- just throwing some leaves :)

Have a spectacular weekend!

I've Decided on a Name!

It was a close call between #1 and #3, but I am very happy that you'll like the one that was my favorite the best. What one was that?! Without further ado - my new 'buisness' name!

Polka-dot Ombre Art

I am going to share a little history about this ombre art.
 I originally had this board hanging from command hooks up on the wall in my room.
For some reason I though 2 tiny command hooks would hold chunky board.
Anyways, the next night I had a 'nightmare' that in the middle of the night the board came crashing to the ground and put a whole the size of car wheel in my wall. It was frightening at the time. When morning comes I usually can never remember what 'movie' played in my head that night, but this one stuck to me till morning. So taking this as a sign, I instantly removed the board from my wall and arranged it on my desk, fearful that I would end up with a non-fixable mark on my wall.

Is it as weird to you as it is to me talking about my dreams? *awkward*
Let's move on shall we?.

The how to for this is pretty straight forward, meaning: no pictures, just words.

What You Need
Board
Paint-- background color, main dot color, and white to ombrefy your polka dots
Paint brush
Mod Podge
Stencil
Pencil

1. Find a board or other hard flat surface, cut it to the size you want it.
2. Paint the board your background color (mine is white)
3. Take a stencil of some sort and trace your shape/pattern on your board.
(I took some card stock and punched a circled out and traced it all over the board)
4. Paint! Start with the outside circles and move in. Each time adding a little white to make it go lighter and lighter.
5. After it is dry, mod podge over the whole thing.

And there you have a sassy little board to add to a room!
 Maybe someday I will hang this beauty up on the wall, but for now, I am going to save my walls.

I Need A Name

Happy Monday Folks!
Hope you are enjoying your day so far - whether you are off school like me, or in :)

I have three upcoming craft shows, and for two of them I need a name for my booth/products. I emailed a few people and asked for ideas. I got some wonderful feedback, but I am horrible at making decisions and am always second guessing myself.

I came to you, our wonderful followers, for some advice! Below are three different names and I would love love love your input. Or maybe you have another name you like? I'll consider it too!

1. Fabric Frenzy

2. Chevron Chic

3. The Twisted Thread

I definitely have a favorite, but I am hoping I will be assured with all your input.  So, please comment below with either the number you like or the name.

I'll be sure to let you know when I chose one!

Thanks!!

Five Things Friday

Some may start to think that I have fallen off the face of the earth since my last 'real' post was back in the middle of September. (gasp oh gasp! It's the middle of October!) I promise you, I have not. Still standing on solid ground.
Ready for 5 of my favorite things this Friday?

1. I ordered this sassy dress for fall from a new store I've never heard of... Shade. Boy oh boy, I can't wait for it to come in!

2. While were still on the topic of clothes, yesterday Taylor and I had a little shopping day of our own. I found this comfy little beauty on the clearance rack and couldn't pass it up.
(please excuse the nasty, pixely picture, my camera on my laptop isn't high quality)

3. We have a 6 day weekend. Cha-ching

4. I absolutely adore farmhouse sinks. LAAAA! (that was the sound that comes to my mind when I see one, just to clear that up)

5. I love these cookies oh so much.

That's all for now! I promise, I have a tutorial for you all coming super soon. It's been in draft mode for about a week and a half, just have to get the energy to finish it :)

Circle Garlands {Take 2}

A few weeks ago, and then earlier this week I posted some pictures of a circle garland I had made. This year I will be making them for craft shows (along with bags + hair accessories and a few other things). They are the perfect thing to add to any type of party, or to just set around in your house for some decor.

Let me know what your thoughts are - I always love hear from people other than the usual, mother + sister.  Can you think of any other color combo's I should do? I am currently making a Christmas & Thanksgiving/Fall one.

Notice: Picture Overload

{oh, hi pumpkin}

 {helloooo pretty fall colors!}

Facts:

- Each circle 'set' is 1&3/4in.
- Each circle 'set' contains 6 different circles...almost always a different color.
- Each garland has 23 total circle 'sets'.
- I am by no means a professional photographer. {pictures actually taken with iphone}

Have a good day!

Can I Have Your Input? {on fashion}

Happy Rainy Saturday!

We are getting our family pictures taken coming thursday night, and I need help deciding on what to wear. I know I said I was going to wear that one shirt but it still has not come, so I need an alternate plan :)

I came up with this outfit and was wondering if I could get your input...

Cardigan: The Limted (but bought at a garage sale) // Necklace: Younkers // White T-Shirt: Old Navy // Jeans: Younkers // Boots: Payless - just in too!

Yay or Nay? Do you like it?! Thoughts please :)

The rest of my family will also be wearing grey's + dark oranges with some white.

Hope you can make the most of this dreary saturday :) {need an idea? I'll be crafting away}

Five Things Friday {Hair}

Happy Friday! Hope you are enjoying it so far :)

Today I am going to show you 5 of my most favorite hair related things right now.

1. I am kinda really in love with these curls and I love the length too. Maybe if my hair would not poof out as much ((i wish)) it would be a reasonable length for me...

{and if only I could look as pretty as Selena...}

2. I want her hair! Now! please and thank you.

3. How come whenever I attempt a messy bun it never turns out like this? Do you have the same problem?!

4. Fishtail braids are one of my favorite things, but I can't do them that much because my hair is not long enough. ((crying)) Somebody hopefully it will be long enough, so I can do one as amazing as this.

5. Do you like ombre look? For me it depends on what kind you have. I either see people with a very dramatic/it turned out really bad one or a perfect one like this! {note: the awesome curls}

Happy Weekend! Enjoy it!

Download It Now {Country Music Love}

Most of you know this, but some probably don't. My all-time favorite genre of music is country. Now, don't go thinking I don't like Christian music because I surely do!
Lately there have been some ah-ma-zing country music songs out (but also old). So, in case any of you are in love with country music like me...I am going to help you out with telling you some songs you should download.
Another reason for this post is because I am trying to get myself all pumped with every song because I'll be attending the Carrie Underwood + Hunter Hayes concert ((yahooo))!

{Warning: Rascal Flatts is my all time favorite group...you'll see a theme soon on}

1. My Wish : Rascal Flatts
I think I have listened to this song at least 10 times today! If you don't like any of my others you should at least promise me you'll download this one.

2. Come Wake Me Up : Rascal Flatts

3. Stand : Rascal Flatts

4. Bless the Broken Road : Rascal Flatts

5. Mayberry : Rascal Flatts

moving on from Rascal Flatts now

5. Wanted : Hunter Hayes

6. Thank God for Hometowns : Carrie Underwood

7. Wanted You More : Lady Antebellum

8. For You : Keith Urban

9. Over : Blake Shelton

10. In Color : Jamey Johnson {the oldy, but goody}

Hope this post gave you country music lovers some inspiration :)

Yet another...{thing I'm obsessed with doing}

{This will be a very very short post...just to let you know ahead of time}

When I get into making something I love I normally make a lot of them. I especially like to make them if they are easy. Like these circle garlands.

They are very easy to make. All you need to do is punch out circles, sew, and fold.
But, if you think you need more instruction than that - check out MADE's post on them here.

Happy Monday!

Taylor

p.s. you may be seeing more of these later...just a warning :)

Five Things Friday

And hello folks! Sorry I've been MIA lately. We'll blame it on school. So good enough for me.
Soooo... are you ready for another five things friday? This week we're going random... but that is aok.
1. I was searching back in Dana from Made's post and found these flowers. They contain so much beauty! It is overwhelming *exaggeration*.  And look at the more warmy/fallish colored ones she's got. Swoooon.

2. I can now saw I am an owner of a chambray shirt. Oh yes, the one from Old Navy came last week. I'm obsessed with it. I'd wear it everyday, but people might start to wonder about me. So I restrain myself to once a week.

3. If you've been looking at my food board on Pinterest you've probably noticed a trend. Pumkpin this, pumpkin that, carmel, apple cinnamon, apple crisp, ect. Obviously me and fall food have become best friends. And boy oh boy, am I ever craving a bowl of pumpkin frozen yogurt. Mmmmmm.

4. I dream of having a rustic door like this gorgeous thing someday.

5. If your birthday is coming up, contact me. An excuse to make this card would be nice.

Awesome {+ heavy} backdrop

You may have or maybe not noticed that I have a wooden background in my previous tutorial. A couple weeks ago I posted pictures of my bags. Remember how I said I was going to make a backdrop?!

Well my friends, I did. It did not turn out anything like I expected but thats okay because I love it even more.

I was definitely not creative enough to think of it either. Head on over to Sew Caroline to look at this DIY! It is A LOT smaller than mine though, and I am pretty sure hers is not 70+ pounds.

I'm sure your dying to see it right?! :)

Here ya go...

FYI: No I did not build that thing on my own. Thanks to my dad for doing that part. In fact all I did was help haul the wood to the barn + paint stain it. Easy peasy for me...harder for him.

Happy Thursday!

Ugly to Cute {Cork board Tutorial}

While at Target the other day I came across this cork board laying on the end shelve. Next thing you know it is in my cart, and my wheels are spinning with ideas of how to make it cuter. I wouldn't normally just pick something like this up {well it is Target were talking about...so maybe}, but it was on clearance for only $3... originally $6.

So either drive yourself to Target to pick up a cork board, or find one around house then you can make it look a little more appealing with this 3-step tutorial.

4 Basic Needs:
- Cork Board
- Glue gun
- Fabric
- Scissors

1) Lay out your fabric then set the cork board on top. Cut around the edges, but make sure there is still enough left to fold over to the bottom.

2) Set cork board down, and then lay the fabric {right side up} on top of it. Then you should flip it over, so you can glue the sides to the back. This is pretty simple just continue glueing around the edge. Your hardest part will be the corners. Just remember to keep them tight.

3) Make sure everything is tight and no fabric is coming undone. After you have checked add some to-do's, pictures, or inspiration to the board.

My sister also decided to make one. {Hi Kacie}

Hope you like your final product if not love it!

It has been awhile since either Megan or myself have done a Pinterest post, so I decided I would do one today. More like I'm bored in study hall with nothing to do, and the blog need my attention + pinterest is calling my name...so why not combine them?!

As always you can follow me here

This is going to be very lengthy aka I have lots of time! I'm going to show you some of my recent pins from each of my boreds excepts the ones I have not pinned from in awhile. {Sorry if any are a repeat...I tend to forget what I have already posted.}

Hope you enjoyed gazing at some of the prettiness.
Have a good Monday!
